Saturday and stuck in the office?

Yes its Saturday and I was stuck at the office. Its officially a working day for us folks here at JVC. Well this is the price we have to pay for having longer holiday periods especially during the festive period. Of course I had plenty of work to finish and I have a deadline to meet but other than that, I believe that God is good and He has always been.

Been going through my Setting Captives Free course for the past few months already and I know I was supposed to have finished it earlier, I think I lack the discipline to push forward and complete it everyday but of course there were periods whereby I had no internet connection at all especially when I was in Malacca during the chinese new year.

I am almost done reading 'Digital Fortress' by Dan Brown. Although all I can say about the book was that it isn't as interesting as 'Demons and Angels' or especially the 'Da Vinci Code'. Actually I was rather amazed at the new illustrated version of the 'Da Vinci Code'. It costs a bomb but it does give you a clearer picture of how those paintings and important sites look like.

Another item which made my interest peak is this site whereby my colleauge passed to me earlier in the day. It was entitled StarWars Episode III spoilers and I had to wait agonizingly till lunch before I could actually see them and were they worth the wait. Honestly I can say before seeing these spoilers, my mind about StarWars Episode III was quite neutral, even unexcited. Right now, I just can't wait until the movie comes out. If you are every bit as curious as me, then head over to the link below. If you want to watch the movie and see it for yourself, then do not, I repeat, do not go to that link.

Liked it? Well I loved it. So much more to expect. Alright, its time to go. Signing off!

What a change!!

Today was an extremely busy day at work and in the course of my assignments, my good friend Joshua sent me a link to a news story. Due to various reasons and work obligations, I only managed to view the site after working hours and did my face light up. This is one of the best news I have heard. Why? Because this piece of news has brought immense encouragement to not only me but to the world and to Christians around.

My only hope that this is not a publicity stunt but more of a show of faith and where he wants to go. Looking forward to listening to Brian's music in the coming years.

Lost about this? Well head over to the link below.

Funny realisation

After browsing through the Lowyat.net forums, I across this joke under the Jokes Heaven section and realised how true it was. Funny it may seem but here I am sitting down here and agreeing to almost everything mentioned in the joke. Now if you did look at things as the joke explains, it does show that we humans tend to shift towards a new age of technology and how it just alters the various habits of human nature. Anyway I am just ranting on and on. Check out the joke below.

Living in 2005!

You'll know you're living in 2005 when...

1. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave.

2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years.

3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of 3.

4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.

5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they don't have e-mail addresses.

6. You go home after a long day at work you still answer the phone in a business manner.

7. You make phone calls from home, you accidentally dial "9" to get an outside line.

8. You've sat at the same desk for four years and worked for three different companies.

10. You learn about your redundancy on the 11 o'clock news.

11. Your boss doesn't have the ability to do your job.

12. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home.

13. Every commercial on television has a website at the bottom of the screen.

14. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it.

15. You get up in the morning and go online before getting your coffee.

16. You start tilting your head sideways to smile.

17. You're reading this and nodding and laughing.

18. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this message.

19. You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list.

20. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn't a #9 on this list

AND NOW YOU ARE LAUGHING at yourself.

Pranks and Such

Sometime this week I came across this site which provided me with one of my best laughs I had in a long time. It really does show that conman have to get what they deserve as well. Head over here to read more about the Powerbook prank. The things some people do. But of course that is not the only pranks available to be read. Another funny one is the credit card prank where by this guy went out to prove that no one really checks the signature when you sign for items.

On another note, I ate at this Italian restaurant is SS2 last night. The food was good and the mushroom soup was the best I have ever tried. You really need to have a go, no other place serves mushroom soup as good as this place. Its the italian restaurant located right behind the old Daya Supermarket which has now turned in to a Maybank if I am correct. In other words, its at the same row as Murni and Secret Recipe. Anyway, if you do have a chance to try it out, just make sure you order the mushroom soup. I did order a lasagne last night but it wasn't anything too special to actually make a note of it. The service wasn't that great after all and the waiter was not quite up to par. Personally they need a lesson or two about being a waiter though. In case you can't find the place, its located directly next door to a pet shop.

For you gamers out there, Dota v6.0 will be released on the 28th of February, well according to Guinsoo in the forums. Unless someone hijacked his account and put a post in the forums in his account.

Its been a while

Well it has been a while since I last update which was sometime in January and now its near the end of February. I turned 23 this month and it seems that I feel that I am getting older or somewhere close to being a full fledged adult. Chinese New Year is also coming to an end, next week on Wednesday and this year has been the first time in 4 years I actually gotten a red packet. I can only blame myself for not mixing more with the married hongkies in Sheffield, well, the only hongkies I know are about my age. Maybe I should have visited those chinese take-aways, but then again I am not their usual customer or one that comes often whereby they would give me one. So here I am back online and ranting as usual. I feel that I am growing a little chubby so drastic measures are being taken as I type this, well the fact that I stop eating breakfast and just take a cup of milo or a packet of chocolate milk should last me through lunch whereby I just eat a small bun except for Fridays though, I take a full meal.

Up until yesterday, I seemed to be obsessed with the new Motorola Razr V3 phone. At its current price at RM2699, the price to feature ratio does not seem at all viable. At that price other people would rather get the ever increasingly popular O2 XDA II Mini which I have seen and played (it looks absolutely gorgeous) on Wednesday night. But the looks of the phones seems to be the one that draws me closer to it especially that this is a super slim flip phone which actually offers bluetooth technology. In case most of you out there do not know, most small compact flip mobile phones do not have bluetooth.

I think right now, I seem to be learning lots and lots of patience. Actually I am trying to learn patience but it seems that every minute or so I just get ultra impatient over anything. Liverpool on the other hand gets me in a super depressed mood where the team doesn't really seem to play to expectation. Win one game and then lose the next few and the cycle starts all over again. It just gets really frustating to see such a wonderful club suffer at the hands of players who can't do things right consistently. After the defeat at the hands of Birmingham, I seem to have a cloud of doubt over me thinking that their past victories this season seem to contain a fair amount of luck on our side and not skill.

Over last week though I just managed to visit the Curve for my first time. Ate lunch there at this noodle bar cum shop where it uses fresh noodles instead of those which are covered in persevatives. The menu looked rather good but the most perculiar thing was that they had spaghetti on the menu amongst other local favourite noodle dishes such as laksa, curry mee and mee mamak. The price though was attrocious, who in their right mind pay RM10.92 for a bowl of mee mamak and a cup of ice lemon tea which was filled with ice. Believe you me, it took me two gulps to finish the entire cup of tea. The noodles weren't to say spectacular and it wasn't at all filling. So if I were you, stay away from this shop, Only Mee.

Ok its time to sign off. Have a great weekend!
